Design and Technology is actually a new subject for me as i have not studied this topic before. Throughout the lessons for Design and Technology, i have learnt a few things.

The first thing i have learnt was how to do product analysis. I feel that product analysis is very important as we would have to consider the factors in product analysis so as to know what our consumers want. To me, i think this skill could be used when we work, therefore it is important. Furthermore, product analysis has required me to think critically, therefore helping me to improve my thinking skills. The second thing i learnt was to present my ideas well by using a mindmap to organise things. Think: what if a student has a very good concept or idea, but is unable to present it well, what would happen? Mindmapping also helps in my memory as i can break down information into smaller chunks and mindmap it out, therefore, i know what are the key points in the information and i do not have to memorize unimportant ones.

The third thing i have learnt was to sketch. When the teacher actually gave us the worksheet for us to sketch without using a ruler, i was like, what? without a ruler, then how are we supposed to draw the lines straight? Despite this question, i tried to sketch without a ruler and i am proud to say i did it quite well. During the process of sketching, i saw my improvements, and felt a sense of achievements. I saw my mistakes, and corrected them. In addition, i think sketching helps in my concentration as we would have to concentrate to draw a nice picture.

I have learnt a lot in my design and technology lessons.
